The following report, published in the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph on Saturday 15 May 1965, reads
Eleanore Irene Esch Died Friday Morning
Eleanore Irene Esch, 66 1816 S. Nevada Ave. died in the backyard of her home from an apparent heart attack Friday morning, the sheriff's office reported.
According to Deputy Sheriff Denboske, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schmidt, 714 S. Tejon St. went to visit Mrs. Esch Friday morning but could get no answer at the front door. Schmidt went around the house and found Mrs. Esch lying on the ground.
She had her brown work gloves on and the lawn mower was just in front of her. Deputy County Coroner Clarence West came to the scene and said it appeared that Mrs. Esch had suffered a cononary seizure. The body was taken to Our Chapel of Memories.

The following obituary, published in the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph on Saturday 15 May 1965, reads
Services Set Monday For Mrs. Esch
Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanore Esch, 64 1816 S. Nevada Ave. are scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday in Swan Funeral Home. Dr. Walter Schaefer will officiate at services and burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Esch died Friday at home and leaves two sons, two step-sons, 14 grandchildren, one nephew and one niece.
She was born Oct. 11 1900 in Colorado Springs and was married in 1949 in Raton N.M. Mrs. Esch owned the JoElla Antique Shop and was a stenographer here for several years.
A member of the Antique Association of Colorado Springs, Mrs. Esch was the widow of Joe Esch, Sr., who died Jan. 9.
Survivors are sons, William Grant Sinton, San Antonio, Tex. and Melvin H. Sinton, Denver. Step-sons are Joe Esch, Jr. and Charles Esch, both of Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Esch, a lifetime resident of the Springs, attended local schools and was graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1918.
