Marriage Announced

Miss Eleanor Irene Whitehead, the daughter of T. O. Whitehead, and Grant Sinton were quietly married Friday, December 24, at 5 o'clock, at the residence of the Rev. Royden C. Leonard, who performed the ceremony in the presence of a few friends and relatives.

Mrs. Sinton is well known here, and attended the local High school. Mr. Sinton served overseas during the late war. They will make their home in Colorado Springs.

Now we have a problem. The above article says the marriage took place on Friday 24 December 1920 but the official Colorado records say it took place on Monday 27 December 1920. I'm going with the Colorado records.

Obituary in the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph published on Sunday 21 April 1974 reads
Grant Sinton Dies
Private services will be Monday at Swan Funeral Home for Grant Sinton, Colorado Springs, who died Friday in a local hospital.

Cremation will follow.

Mr. Sinton was born here June 10, 1894. He was a free lance commercial artist and a musician, playing with several orchestras, including over 20 years with Taits Orchestra.

He attended Colorado Springs schools and the Chicago Art Institute.

He was a Unitarian.

Mr. Sinton served as a musician during World War I. He was a member in the 137th Infantry Band.

He was married Dec. 30, 1938 in Colorado Springs. His widow, Myrtle, survives him.

He is also survived by two sons, Grant W. Sinton, San Antonio, Tex., and Melvin Sinton, Denver; a sister, Mrs. Prudence Mick, Colorado Springs; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Swan Funeral Home until 9:30 p.m. today.
