David Sinton settled about half a mile from Ashtrees House at what is now called Tamnaghmore House and is the ancestor of the Ballinteggart, Laurelvale and Ravarnette branches of the family. He was third child of Benjamin Sinton (1755-1836) and Dinah McConnell, was born 22 February 1792 at 10 a.m., died 27 (or 25) September 1860. Sarah Green, his wife, was a Quaker. Although David Sinton never became a member of the Society of Friends, he encouraged his family to attend meetings.
The pedigree obtained from C. Eileen (Wicklow) Sinton, includes the curious information that David Sinton and Sarah Green were "married by clergyman Kelso in a car in (or near) Moira." (Goelz) DMS adds "in the afternoon ... a run away match. They later lived at Tamnaghmore House. According to WLS and Dorothy (McClatchie) Sinton pedigrees, this was a run-away marriage which "took place in a car, in or near Moira". Dorothy used apparently the JRHG/WLS's pedigree as much of the wording is exactly the same.
