Ray was in the Army from 1941 to 1945 during WW II, served in Germany for 6 months. He died from blood poisoning infection that went to sinuses then to blood stream(eryosipidis?) He was a member of the Liberty Fire Co., No. 1, the American Legion Post 594 and the Fraternal Order of police, a member of the Middletown, PA. Police Dept for more than 7 years. bksinton.ged
I don't know who wrote the above but it would seem very unlikely that Ray joined the Army aged 14.
