David I. Neidig, Sr., 48, of 6119 Collington Court, Harrisburg, formerly of Gordon, died Saturday evening at his residence following a lenghthy illness.

Born in Pottsville, Sept. 11, 1951, he was a son of the late Ira and Catherine Sinton Neidig. He was a 1969 graduate of North Schuylkill HS and Penn State University, where he studied electrical engineeering.

He was a vetran of the Air Force with the rank of Sergeant.

He was employed for Tyco Electronics, Harrisburg, as an electrical engineer.

He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, where he was Sunday school teacher, council president and youth advisor. Active with youth, he coached Little League baseball, basketball, and football for the Linglestown Ball Association.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 294, Ashland, where he was a member of the Masonic Education Committee, Griscom Royal Arch Chapter 219, Ashland and Citizen's Fire Company, Gordon.

Surviving are a son, David I, Jr., Harrisburg; a daughter, Tania Neidig, Harrisburg; his former wife, Renee Clark Neidig, Harrisburg; a sister, Carolyn Palavage, Medford, NJ; a sister, Doris Klauger, Lavell,; neices and nephews.

Services will be held at 7:30 pm Tuesday from St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, Additional services will be held at 11 am Wednesday from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gordon.

The Rev. Brenda J. Kiser will officiate at both services. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
