He was a consulting electrical and heating engineer. He spent many of his last years living at Altona, the house in which he was born and which was built by his great grandfather Thomas Jackson, a well-known Ulster architect, in 1863-4. The accuracy and depth of the material presented here about the Sinton (and other related families) is due directly to his kindness in sharing his research with the writer (Elizabeth Goelz). He served in WWII, and the rest of his active life has been spent in the linen trade in association with the firm of J. & T.M. Greeves, Ltd., Belfast, once the largest flax-spinning mill in the world, founded by his grandfather and great-uncle in 1862. This firm was taken over by another linen firm, Herdmans Ltd., in 1962, and Mr. Greeves retired as a director of this organization. He was a Fellow of the Irish Genealogical Society, and Chairman of the Ulster Genealogical and Historical Guild.

A body of his correspondence with LBS is filed at Tutt Library, Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colorado. It deals with his family and the joint work in transcribing the letters, which he typed. His typed copy, one of three, of the letters is also on file there, one with the Friends Historical society [get proper name and address] in Dublin, and the original with his papers.
