He met Bell Sinton while at College. After their wedding they returned to the family farm in Iowa. He died of the flu which was world wide after WW1.

Obituary in the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph published on Wednesday 22 October 1919 reads

S. N. Willett, son-in-law of Dr. W. K. Sinton, 1111 North Corona street, died yesterday at Woodbine, Ia., where he has lived for some time. He was a graduate of Cutler Academy and attended Colorado College. He leaves a wife, formerly Miss Bell Sinton, and three children. The funeral will be held at Woodbine tomorrow.
